Help! I have thousands of photos on this portable harddrive!! Its the first time I have hooked it up to my Mac Book Pro in years as I wanted to use some of the photos from earlier years. It clicks, hums and then appears to be fine! It is not showing up on my Finder either. I am good to pitch this product if I can find a way to transfer the data to another hard drive!!
I’d recommend replacing your unit’s USB cable in order to discard a connectivity issue, and then verifying if your hard drive is detected within your Mac’s Desk Utility in order to run First Aid.
On the other hand, it may be possible for this unit to no longer be supported by your system based on the model number if your computer has been updated to the latest Mac OS releases. If so, you may need an older computer in order to access the unit.
Hi there!! Thanks for your response. I have a bad feeling that it is the lack of support that is creating the problem as a newer version of this external hard drive works fine. I have used that USB cable on this older hard drive and still no recognition
