WD Software for Win8?

I have a WD Sharespace 8tb for my home network.  I recently upgraded to Win8 and now WD Anywhere no longer works.  WD Link works fine.  After perusing the WD website, I noticed that WD Anywhere specs indicate it works on Win7 and WD Link works on Win8.  Does WD have a program similar to WD Anywhere that’s compatible with Win8 and my 8tb Sharespace?  If not, what are some alternatives?

Although Western Digital may not fully support WD Anywhere software on Windows 8, you can follow the steps outlined below to launch and use the software successfully: 

  1. Download WD Anywhere Backup from  HTTP://support.wdc.com 

  2. Install WD Anywhere Backup on a computer running Windows 8. 

  3. Launch WD Anywhere Backup from the installation folder on the C: drive. i.e: C:\Program Files (x86)\WD Anywhere Backup and run the MemeoBackup.exe application. 

  4. WD Anywhere Backup should launch as expected. A shortcut can be created as well for the MemeoBackup.exe for quick access.

Also note that you have the option to use Windows backup to backup your files.
