I have had a My Book Essential for some time with no problems. Just this week when I plug it in the comp just says that “WD Smartware has stopped working” and will not therefore allow me to open My Book. Any one have some suggestions as to how to fix the problem???
Hi. Try this
Uninstall WD Smartware, restart the computer, download smartware from the website and re install it again.-
