WD Smartware doesn't detect files on PC drives

Hello,

I have a WD Mycloud and I would like to set up an automatic backup for my PC. However, if I use the WD Smartware software, it only detects a minor part of the files on my computer. I was wondering if any of you could help me on this. My info is the following:

System

  • HP Elitebook 8540w
  • Windows 10 - home
    .
    WD Mycloud
  • WD firmware version: 2.21.119
  • WD Smartware version: 2.4.16
  • Adobe Flash Player: version 23,0,0,207
    .
    I’m trying to back up files from my C:\Users.… but it seems like most files are stored under “additional files” if I search my computer with the Smartware. I can’t access these files to upload (in the standard version)?

Check the Smartware Help or the Smartware User Manual (if you can find a link for it since WD seems to have removed it). Smartware has an option to change the default setting to allow the user to select the folders on their hard drive they want to back up.
