WD Smartware (doesn't backup)

I have 6 external WD drives to regularly backup our server.  I thought it was backing up our data, but when I checked, it is missing files/folders all over the place. 

I added a new Ultra drive and performed a fresh backup.  I left it running all night and the results were disappointing…

I can see all the preselected files/folder in the Smartware BACKUP tab, but they do not copy across.  I have read the ‘take ownership’ article, and also elevated the Smartware Services so they have administration privileges. At some point, it only seemed to backup files I viewed rather than modified?

I have installed the latest version with the minor number as .17

Does the application provide a log of what it has transferred?

Which operating system do you run on your Server? Even if somehow installed, WD SmartWare may not operate properly in non-consumer editions of Microsoft Windows.
