At some point recently, WD SmartWare started crashing on launch. I’m on the latest Windows 10. I have tried compatibility options and nothing. Also, want to find replacement software for it, but WD Backup does not recognize MyCloud drive, and the Acronis doesn’t either (the WD version does not allow the installation).
Are you on the latest version of SmartWare?
Yes, very latest, and I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times.
If I’m reading your post correctly, then it appears the SmartWare was working fine until some point recently. If the re-installs didn’t work, and you are on the latest version, then I would start looking at potential issues with either a Windows update, virus software update, etc. Aside from those, I wouldn’t have anything more to offer.
Windows 10 recently updated to the ‘creators update’. Maybe it was that? Other than that, I’ve also tried uninstalling antivirus, but still won’t work.
Can you uninstall that Win10 update just to see if it caused it? Remember, make sure you have a backup for your files.
