I bought a 2TB WD Portable recently, I just started some tests on it today. I usually use Seatools, it passed short drive self test, but when I tried Short generic it said fail, I don’t remember seeing any drive I use fail a test in seatools before. So I thought I would try something made by WD, using WD Drive Utilities now. Smart and quick drive self test passed, its now doing the complete drive test, will take hours though.
Do you think I should return the drive? It also mades a small almost clicking noise (about 4 or 5 times) when it firsts starts any operation, I’m not sure its the same clicking you get when HD’s are faulty though, maybe normal?
