I have a WDBMWV0020BBK-05 that I use for storing backup copies of large video files, often @1GB each. The drive reads just fine, and I can write small files to it easily. When I try to copy a group of large files to the drive, it hangs after one or sometimes two files. I am using Windows 7.0, fully updated. I would appreciate very much any suggestions for how to resolve this.
Do you mean COMPLETELY and IRRECOVERABLY hangs, or just pauses for a bit between files?
Completely and irrecoverably. In order to regain control of the system, I have to pull the cord from it and do a forced reboot of the computer.
