WD Passport "Too Many Password Attempts"

I have an older WD Passport that keeps giving me a “too many password attempts” dialog whenever I try to open the unlock.exe file on the Virtual CD.

I’ve tried unplugging the drive and plugging it back in. I’ve tried using another computer. I ran a WD Drive Utilities diagnostic and drive checked out fine. The WD Firmware installer says the firmware is up to date.

I know what my password is, I just need it to give me the password entry dialog so I can get in.

Any help would be appreciated.

I haven’t lost my password. I know what my password is, I just can’t enter it because I don’t get the password prompt.

Unplugging the drive and plugging it back in doesn’t help, either.
