WD Passport Essential - Windows Delayed Write Failed

I get the following error with my new WD Passport Essential -" Windows was unable to save all the data for the file filename. The data has been lost. The error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save the file elsewhere." Filename is the file it is trying to save.  I notice when I move the external drive and place in a secure place I get this error. I usually have to unplug the WD drive and reboot pc system with WD plugged in.

Can someone help me? I need a solution for this problem because I have a laptop that carry with me and I needed extra HD space and brought this WD external drive. But I can’t use it when I move around.

Help Please!

Did you try a different USB port or cable? I found this http://www.gibni.com/windows-delayed-write-failed-solved  . In Windows 7 go into device manager and right click then properties and policies tab and change to better performance. You will have to make sure you disconnect properly using icon in taskbar.
