WD passport 4tb current pending sector count

Hello.

I have an WD Passport 4TB, Windows put this disk as “read only” when was running, I do test.

CrystalDiskinfo report: c5 Current pending sector count “1”

I wrote WD support and they recommended me Data Lifeguard Diagnostic program…all ok.

Data Lifeguard Diagnostic says the hard disk is ok:
Test Option: EXTENDED TEST
Model Number: WD My Passport 25E2
Firmware Number: 4004
Capacity: 4000.75 GB
SMART Status: PASS
Test Result: PASS

CrystalDiskinfo still report: c5 Current pending sector count “1”

I exectuted Format command (from windows 7)
I executed chkdsk /r (from windows 7)

CrystalDiskinfo still report: c5 Current pending sector count “1”

I downloaded hdtune pro:

I erased all the HD with “zero”.

CrystalDiskinfo still report: c5 Current pending sector count “1”
HDtune reports too c5 Current pending sector count “1”

I have done error scan test with HDtune, all ok, no errors

CrystalDiskinfo still report: c5 Current pending sector count “1”
HDtune reports too c5 Current pending sector count “1”

The disk now runs ok, but…What I can do for that this sector will be “counted” and relocated or not relocated?

Thanks

You should run SMART Test and Complete Drive Test using WD Drive Utilities to check the health of drive. If drive passes in both, you may ignore CrystalDiskinfo and HDtune reports.

Yes, I continue using this disk, but…why Windows changed disk to “read-only” mode when was running?

And…what can I do for that the counter "c5 Current pending sector count " will be updated testing the sector that is reporting possible failure and mark the sector as good or as bad?

Looking at

43% of hard disks with "c5 Current pending sector count " are near to failure.

Thanks

That’s correct and needs to keep another copy of data backup while using this.
