WD MyBook not writable as NAS on TP-Link AX6000

My TP-Link router (model AX6000) recognizes the drive (model WDBBGB0030HBK-NA) and allows me to map it to a drive letter.

The router’s management function to change the drive from read-only to being writable is not visible.

If I detach the WD MyBook and attach a thumb drive, everything works as expected – so this is not a router malfunction.

Should I return the WD unit and purchase a drive from another manufacturer, or is there a way to make the WD unit work with this router?

Thanks!
