My MyBook 4TB (purchased date: 2018-03-17) is no longer powering on. I removed the HD, and put it a docking station. The drive spins up and shows up in Windows Explorer but when I click on it I get a error message “Parameter Incorrect”.
Any thoughts?

If you really have a single bay/single drive My Cloud and the internal My Cloud hard drive is not functioning properly, one can extract the hard drive from the My Cloud enclosure and connect it (using a USB to SATA adapter, or USB docking station, or a spare SATA port) to a computer running Linux, or running a Linux driver, to try and read the drive’s contents.
Third party programs that will allow one to read Linux formatted hard drives in Windows.
One can use a Linux Boot Disc/Boot USB Flash Drive to boot their computer into Linux to read a Linux formatted hard drive. Ubuntu is one popular free Linux distro that can be used to boot a computer into Linux.

“The Parameter is incorrect” is one of the common issue related to external drives which may leads to 2 major issues:
i) Cannot Copy Files
ii) Drive becomes inaccessible

I tried several different computers and I finally able to access the drive and start backing up the data.
The lesson learned is to use a multi-disk back up solution that supports RAID.
I placed an order for the WD 8TB My Cloud EX2 Ultra NAS and will configure it for RAID 1.
