My MyBook 4TB (purchased date: 2018-03-17) is no longer powering on. I removed the HD, and put it a docking station. The drive spins up and shows up in Windows Explorer but when I click on it I get a error message “Parameter Incorrect”.
Wrong subforum. The My Book is a completely different device than a My Cloud. The My Book is an external hard drive, the My Cloud is a network attached storage device. If you have a My Book, see the dedicated subforum for WD External Drives.
If you really have a single bay/single drive My Cloud and the internal My Cloud hard drive is not functioning properly, one can extract the hard drive from the My Cloud enclosure and connect it (using a USB to SATA adapter, or USB docking station, or a spare SATA port) to a computer running Linux, or running a Linux driver, to try and read the drive’s contents.

One can use a Linux Boot Disc/Boot USB Flash Drive to boot their computer into Linux to read a Linux formatted hard drive. Ubuntu is one popular free Linux distro that can be used to boot a computer into Linux.
The parameter is incorrect issue can occur due to various reasons like Virus infection, Unsafe removal of hard drive, Power failure, Bad sectors and Corrupt file system. Though the issue can be resolved; below are the few possible solutions to fix the issue:
Run CHKDSK
Run SFC Scan
Use Antivirus Program
Format the external drive
