Wd mybook 1140 windows 8 problem

Hello,

turn it on my PC and my wd mybook 1140 “auto start” lights up, freezing/stopping the light up of  the PC,

if redo the operation with wd mybook 1140 unplugged, this does not happen and  PC will boot normally.

Is there a way to make sure that leaving powered wd mybook 1140, does not turn on automatically every time the PC turn on?
