My Passport Ultra has worked fine for many months up until 7/4/17 when it quit working. I have attached a snip of the message that I receive when I open it:
“Backup Now” does not function. When I click on “Details” I get a bunch of lines of code. Please see this snip which shows the end of several lines of code for files that won’t be backed up:

Please help me to determine what has gone wrong and what I can do to fix it. Thank you!

Can the backup be resumed if you remove those particular files from the backup list?
Trancer - Thanks. Is there any way to know if these files are important? They appear to be gibberish code and not file names?
I am on the road until Thurs night. When back at my PC I will most likely try what you suggest, remove the files and try again. I tend to be the kind of person to get bogged down by “why” questions before acting.
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Those are system configuration or app configuration files. The application should be excluding them to begin with based on the file extension (.dat).
I am back at my computer. How do I delete the config files in question? Probably a very dumb question… Do I open File Explorer, search for the files in question and delete them? Or is there some way to delete the files in question from the WD software?
Thank you for your continued help!
How does one go about deleting files as shown above from a WD My Passport Ultra??? I cannot find any method to delete these files from the WD Backup and nor can I find them on my computer.
Please help! Thank you!
