WD My Passport not working

Hi. I have the following issues with the WD My passport that I bought in Dec, 2013

  1. Heating up, but no light showing
  2. Not discovered on my Mac, was working till 2 weeks ago
  3. Bought a new connecting cable, still same situation
  4. Restarted system, still same situation
  5. Can’t check on a PC

I have a lot of important information (photos, videos etc) on the HD. It was working PERFECTLY fine till 2 weeks ago. What to do?

If the unit appears to be overheating I’d advice against further use as it could potentially further compromise stored data. If data recovery is a concern under these circumstances then it would be best to contact a specialized data recovery service company.
