WD My passport : HD is not detecting

Hii…

Can anyone help me out… My external HD of WD is not getting detected… Sometimes it shows the drive as empty. For one time it showed the datas. Bt suddenly it got hanged. LED is blinking at everytime. Bt not showing either in my PC or in my laptop… Wht could be the issue???

try using a differnt  usb cable. It’s possible  the cable went bad.

juggle the connector  to make it’s connected tightly

does the Wd work on another computer ?

Another thing you can try if you don’t have a cable problem, is to access the disk management ( Start > right click on Computer or My computer if you have win xp, on the Computer Management window click con Disk Management )

Verify is the drive is showing as Healthy or Unalocated. If the drive is Healthy it means the drive is fine and problem is on the OS, but is the drive is Unalocated then you will have to format the drive.-

If you have a Mac access Disk Utility and if the drive is listed showing the capacity and the name of the drive, then run a first aid to test and repair your drive.-
