WD Lifebook Essential - case to usb cable

Hello,

I purchased an WD Lifebook Essential 2TB, but i don’t like the case (animals and dust gets inside) and i want to use the hard drive with my SATA cable.

I removed the power supply chip and plugged in the drive with a SATA cable to the PC, however the drive is not recognized. Kindly refer to the following screenshots:

I appreciate some suggestions on how to make the drive recognizable.

I did some research and found out that the drive requires more power to boot.

The Sata to USB cable that i purchased is only sufficient for a 3.5 inch hard.

Is there a way to use the original supply and plugin in the Usb cable part?

You should have purchased a Sata to USB Enclosure instead of an Adaptor

Sata to USB Enclousures come with a AC Power Supply.
