Thanks. I did and they said that the My Book Edition was only good up to Windows XP. I need to purchase a new external drive that would work with Windows 10. I did that this morning. Went to Best Buy and picked up a WD MY CLOUD HOME 2 tb. Trying to in stall it now. Keep fingers crossed.
Update on installing the MY CLOUD HOME. Had both drives connected to the router. Since I do not know what I am doing, I lucked out. ■■■■ if the My Cloud Home didn’t get my My Book to start working on Windows 10. I discovered how to transfer my stored data from the old drive to the new one ( My Cloud Home). Transfer is in the process of copying. It will take some time. Hope it all works.
Well I may a have asked for too many files to be copied over. Had to start over the transfer process. It will be a slow slow procedure. But it may be the only way, a few files at a time, to get this task completed.
So I went to re start the transfer process again. This time the My Book x and y would not open up. What’s gives??? So I will re-try tomorrow. There should be a straight forward guide that tells you how to do this. Not or the fant- of -heart. Can you say --Frustrated?
