Hello, hope someone can help.
I have a WD Essentials Book external hard drive, model # WD1600l0032-001. I lost the ac adapter and I think I found one that works. I plugged it in and it lit up and started working. I then plugged it in to a laptop, but now the laptop doesn’t read the WD. It keeps popping up a window saying, "USB Device Not Recognized. I plugged it in to different USB ports on laptop, but no change. It just says one of the devices attached to laptop has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix this?
