WD Elements drive does not appear in Windows

The following from the Windows event log;

source ‘disk’
The IO operation at logical block address 0x0 for Disk 1 (PDO name: \Device\00000109) was retried.

Then the following;
source : DeviceSetupManager
Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 for container ‘{8E132387-AAF4-5E4F-80A5-5958332336B0}’

Any help gratefully received…

Hi,

Have you made any changes to the hardware or software prior to the issue?

Are you able to test the unit using a different set of cables? Normally, IO errors are related to input/output errors.

No changes to HW or SW.
Tried on 2 PCs both the same result.
Haven’t tried another cable as it has a proprietary plug on the disk end? Will PC world have one where I bought it?
