Hi,
I have a PC system and create backups from the computer to a WD MY Cloud (1 shaft). This works without flaw. I want to use the elements box as a target for the mycloud’s safepoints. I just attached WD Elements via USB to the MYCloud box. The elements box is not recogzniszed. Hm. Does this mean that the elements box is not a suitable target for mycloud’s safepoint? Did I do anything wrong?
What I just noticed. WD quickview only recognizes the wdmycloud drive. I guess this is normal.
Hi there, have you checked if the elements box is recognized by the computer? Check out the links below for more information on creating a safepoint for your My Cloud.
Howdy jpeng, Thanks for the input. The elements box has so far been connected via a USB hub or via a fritz!Box to the computer. In both cases, all worked as normal. For this reason, I did not question the formatting. I will try and report. Thanks so far
Hello AvE,
As your external elements drive is not getting recognized by My Cloud Device. Please make sure the drive is formatted into a compatible file system.
You can follow the below link to know about the External USB drive file systems supported on My Cloud Products:
Hi logan.h and jpeng,
Thanks for your leads but they were unfortunately to no avail. Once I connected the elements box back to my PC, it was all fine. So, I connected it back to the MyCloud but it was still not recognized. Right, yes, the elements was and is formatted in NTFS.
Any further ideas?
