WD Easystore Brand New, Recognized, Files Transferred, next time used, shows "OFFLINE

Hi there,

I just recently purchased a WD EasyStore 8 TB. The first day, it worked great, I transferred important files to it. The next time I plugged it in, it now no longer recognizes the drive. I tried running the WD Utilities tool, and it says there’s no WD Drive attached. If I go to WD backup, it says “Easystore - Offline”.

I have confirmed all drivers are correctly installed
I’m on:
Windows 7 64 bit

Has anyone else run into this? (I also went to a knowledge base linked in one of the other threads and none of the steps to reboot, disconnect, etc seemed to help).

I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide-- normally, I’d just take it back, but at this point, it does have sensitive information on the hard drive, and if someone is able to repair it, I don’t want them having access to that information.

Thanks for your help
Crystal

The link below will allow you to call support.

I was told when I had the Easy Store installed that the connections break easily so be careful.

Hey Crystal,

I am facing same problem now. Did you find any solution? If yes please help me
