Dejuan 2.0 Linux, Dell Precision T5600 with PCIe card.
Can’t partition newly installed WD Black NVMe attached to PCIe board. My setup did work well with my “decent” Samsung NVMe (i.e. PCIe board works just fine, Linux drives are just fine). Can partition the WD Black installed into an external USB-C-type housing. Read and write both fine with this setup (did choose ext4), but a rather large block is indicated as already being written to (around 65 MB). Attaching the WD NVMe to the PCIe board then the WD NVMe got properly recognized and mounted (after editing /etc/fstab). A simple “mount” cmd then returns rw access to the WD NVMe but after an attempt to write to the disk an error shows up saying the NVMe is write protected. A further mount cmd then indeed shows ro access!
Did try different setup with Cent OS 7.5 - same behavior, drive is shown as being write protected after first attempt to write to disk:-(
Any suggestions?
Its a new device, still under warranty.
