WD Backup Software Interference Between MS Access Attached Table and MS Excel File
Several of us at our company have MS Access databases which contain attached tables which are attached to MS Excel files. When that file is used and saved and an attempt to utilize the attached file’s data in an Access database an error (Access 3274 error: error “3274” , External table is not in the expected format) and the data cannot be used. Next, in order to utilize this process the user must reboot the computer, utilize the Access database WITHOUT opening and saving the Excel file which contains the attached table.
This issue just resurfaced yesterday in a database which has been in use for ~15 years which has had attached Excel files for same amount of time - and this problem has never occurred before. Also, latest Office updates were installed on my computer last week by our IT department.
At any rate, once the Excel file has been opened/saved apparently the WD software creates some connection into that file that is causing this error.
Any help on a resolution would be greatly appreciated!
