WD Backup not opening or backing up

After installing WD Backup to use with Easystore Portable Drive, I was able to do a manual backup and schedule future backups. The first scheduled backup returned an error: missed backup with no explanation. Now WD backup will not open or do even a manual backup.

I found in the ‘About WD Backup Software’ document a list: “The WD Backup software supports the following WD external storage drives:” Only Passport Drives are listed, not Easystore Portable Drives.

Does this mean I cannot use WD Backup software for my portable drive, even though the packaging states ‘automatic backup software’.

Please clarify and provide suggestions as to how to make Backup work or an alternate solution. I purchased the Easystore Drive expressly because it was supposed to provide automatic backup software.

Thanks Jonty! I’ve reviewed the link you sent, but found not solutions there.

I spoke to someone from WD and per their suggestion, reinstalled the software. It manually backed up once, then nothing. It did not attempt to do scheduled backups and won’t do manual backup. Also, “settings” will not open either.
