I just got my WD My Passport Ultra. I read the instructions and it said it should work for OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). The instructions also said I had to reformat it before I do anything else.
(To do this the instructions say to go to “support.wd.com” which is actually incorrect - a I went there and it took me to a store. So I’m not trusting this product at the moment, as it is taking me several hours to get this all worked out.)
Once I found I needed to be at “support.wdc.com” I searched for the topic the instructions mention in order to reformat - Answer ID 3865 - only to find that there are no instructions for OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).
Did I make a stupid purchase? The point of getting the drive was to back-up the “old” Mac. But it doesn’t seem possible.
Please respond quickly or I will be returning the drive.
