Almost a year ago, I hooked up a WD Elements 1TB to the old Vista computer and I believe it was backing up once a week. Now the Vista has died. How do I access the data on the WD Elements? I have a lapop Windows -7.

You can connect the WD Elements to your Windows 7 computer, access the drive normally from Windows explorer and see if you are able to transfer the backup files to your computer.
