Hi, I posted a week or two ago because I was having some trouble. I couldn’t delete files from my hard drive and when it let me do so, it’d freeze soon after. I also couldn’t move those files.
I was told to download Windows Data Lifeguard Diagnostics, so I did. When I ran the test it just told me that there were “too many bad sectors”. I’ve run multiple virus scans and have no viruses. My friend told me to try defragmenting but it won’t let me defragment the E drive.
Like I said, I cannot move the files on the hard drive onto a computer because it just freezes. I’m planning on getting a new external soon, so saving the hard drive isn’t a huge deal but I do want to save all the files I’ve put on there over the past four years!
Obviously I cannot format the hard drive because then I’d lose all my files.
Hoping someone can help. Thanks.
