Unable to Install Sansa Firmware Updater

I haven’t been able to update my Fuze firmware. I hooked my Fuze to a USB port of my comp that’s running Windows XP SP3.

My Fuze is Version 1 so, I download an Updater installer from this link, and saved it on my desktop.

See here what happens when I try to install the Updater.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskkill.com is not a valid Win32 application.

What can I do? Thanks.

Okay, I could update the firmware by downloading the zip file, unpack on my desktop, and putting the extracted bin in the internal drive of my Fuze. Upon disconneting, i could see it updating its firmware. But how come my Windows doesn’t let me install the Updater?

I wouldn’t waste my time with the Updater…it’s quick and easy to upgrade without it, as you discovered, so why add it at all? I had it once, it stopped working, I uninstalled it, and have never looked back:smiley:

Thanks, I tossed the updater installer!

All you have to do is check in here from time to time, and you’ll hear about upcoming updates, and then you’ll be able to get them right from here too.
