I am trying to delete a fair amount of older files from my WD Passport Essential; however, the computer says that I need to be the administrator in order to perform this function. I am the administrator and I am logged in as such. What do I need to do to fix this? These files are taking up alot of storage space.
Thanks,
SAL

I have a similar problem… having swapped PC’s, I have about 750GB (of 1TB) of backups from my old PC on my older WD My Passport Essentials BU Drive that I want to get rid of as I no longer need them and my drive is almost full. I no longer have access to the old PC and have a similar problem when I try to delete the old backups directly from the drive. I am wondering if there is any way of doing it without reformatting the drive and reinstalling the WD Smartware and associated support files from scratch, then reinitiating the back up of the new PC etc. The new PC is running W7 Ent, & I have installed the latest version of WD SmartWare to handle my backups.
Thanks
