If I reactivate the screen (by turning scroll wheel or pressing home button) after the backlight has turned off, the current track skips to the next track.
Any clues how to fix this?
Download the latest firmware and install it manually on the player. Sometimes the firmware on the player becomes corrupted.

Yea, I’ve tried reinstalling the firmware a few times, but it made no difference. I’ve installed rockbox firmware now instead, problem solved!! Thanks

This merely circumvents the issue; it doesn’t solve it.
Although considering the fact that the player is most likely out of warranty at this point, I don’t see as you have many other choices other than this work-a-round if you want to continue to enjoy your Fuze.
