Funny thing is that it was working yesterday with no trouble, I even did an extended test last Sunday which showed nothing was wrong. I checked the SMART info and everything was fine. Though there were occasional clicks which I thought that they were normal, nothing really indicated that it was going to die today… when I brought my laptop out of hibernation.
So good job… Backups are serious business and never trust SMART ever again.
