Time Machine (Mac) on WD_Black P10

Hello, I want to buy a WD_BLACK P10 Game Drive to store games, but also my Time Machine backups of my Mac. Time Machine asks if I want to erase the backup disk and specifies that erasing will destroy all information on the disk. My question is can I buy this disc to make Time Machine backups and store games without “damaging” the disc ?
