The scroll is all gummed up & will barely move

Do you think I should try to disassemble it and clean it somehow? What should I use to clean it?

Can this be opened? http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/images/fuze-disassemble/sansa-fuze-disassembled-10.jpg

So I can clean it? I’m pretty sure that’s the problem.

You think having it done by a professional is any cheaper than getting a new one/ the way to go? Any experiences with this?

Thanks in advance.

The scroll wheel on my Fuze seems to swell up and refuse to move whenever there’s a big increase in the humidity.

Since my Fuze is in my car most of the time, I just turn the heater on full and blow hot air over the Fuze for a couple of minutes and that usually unfreezes the wheel.  Unfortunately it tends to just be a temporary fix and I have to keep “blow drying” it until the humidity level drops again. (And sometimes cold air from the AC will also unfreeze it since the air from the AC is so dry.)

1.) I doubt if you could even find a professional with enough experience with these things where he would want to attempt it.

2.) Even if you could find someone, the cost would most likely be at least 2-3 times the cost of a new one.

Not the same player, but the same symptoms on a Sansa Connect.  A spritz from a spray can of electronic cleaner did the trick, and permanently.

Good tip, thanks.
