I’ve been using my 1T for a few months. although i appreciate it’s storage size, the cable isn’t very good. The connections are too loose. it’s either slipping out of my laptop, or slipping out of the drive itself. I would recommend a tighter connection. I fear the drive is going to break apart on one of these ‘slips’. The casing has already cracked a bit. Any suggestions? I guess I could just tape the cables to the drive, and my laptop, but that would defeat the portability.
If the drive is still in warranty contact WD and they’ll send you a new cable.

Thanks! I actually did contact WD but they made no mention of sending me a cable. I guess I should just ask! Thanks again.
I wasnt sure where or how to post a new message, so sorry everyone.
My problem is that when I plug my WD Elements (1Gig) into my computer it deletes any trace of my USB Wireless Adaptor and I have to re-install it again after using the drive. I have XP with SP3.
Any ideas how I can get around this most annoying problem?
Many thanks in advance and sorry about my “Lost Post”
Hi!
**Have you tried to use both devices in another computer to determine that is not you computer the problem???
**Have your tried to use a different usb cable for your external hard drive?
