system restore killed sansa clip?

I had to do a system restore on my HP laptop with Win 7. The clip zip was plugged in charging, and it never occurred to me that would be a problem. However, the clip zip appears to be totallk dead as it will not turn on and if I plug it into the computer it doesn’t register as a device. Is there any way to salvage this? Obviously I had a lot of mp3s on it. I can’t tell if it just killed the batter or the whole thing, and I can’t find a way to remove the battery.

I doubt very much your computer system restore procedure was fatal to your Clip Zip. Just reset it (the Clip Zip) by pressing and holding the power button down for 20-30 seconds. Release, and it should start up normally after pressing the power button again momentarily.
