I have a My Passport that has 645 corrupt files on it that can’t be moved or deleted. My computer flags it as needing scan and repair every time it’s plugged in. WD customer service advised me to check it with WD Drive Utilities. I did, and it passed all the tests. So WD customer service said run it through WD Lifeguard. I did and it passed the Extended test. So WD said erase/format it with WD Drive Utilities. I tried and WD Drive Utilities says the drive is in use and running a program.
I literally had just closed Lifeguard (I would be unable to run the test if the drive were in use) and opened WD Drive Utilities, and WD Utilities says it’s in use. To be certain I ejected the drive and replugged it into the computer. WD Drive Utilities still says the drive is in use.
So I’m having serious doubts about the accuracy of WD Lifeguard. Anyone know what this means?
