SuperBowl Eats

Since the big game is only a couple hours away, I thought it might make for good conversation what ‘goodies’ everyone is planning to enjoy while watching the game.

Myself, I’ve got a big pot of my Super-Duper-Colon-Busting Chili simmering on the stove as we speak along with shrimp cocktails and pork rinds, chips and other asssorted munchie food. Beer of course, to wash it all down with.

Oh yeah, and the requisite (and welcome) vanilla ice-cream for dessert to tame the fire of the afore-mentioned consumed ‘Danger Zone’ chili.

And the outcome? . . . I think the Steeler’s will take it.

What’s your favorite football food and who do you think will win?

Its too late now. For a pick but the team I was rooting for won. For dinner, Tacos with Velveta Chilli Cheese sauce and southwest grilled Chicken, Hull-less popcorn, and Brownies. (Thats what I supplied) My friends brough 6 Alarm Fire station Chilli which is regular chilli only with beer and 2 12 oz bottles of Franks Red hot sauce, another brought Italian Sausage Stromboli and pizza. And My boss brought “Coyote” Glazed babyback ribs and wings. Coyote refers to the sauce he hand makes. He wont tell me whats in it but he has confirmed Jagermiester is a main ingredient. Beer was Dutch Treat (I dont drink it, so I had Goose and Cranberry and Jag), We had appearences from Pabst to Nattie Light, and The American standars (Miller Bud and Coors), as well as the imports Stella and Heinekin.

I was in bed before the Superbowl ended.  Football is OK, but definitely not my favorite sport to watch.

All the people I hang around with are avid Tennis fans.  I had a get together at 3:30 Sunday AM (not a typo) for my friends and I could watch the Federer/Nadal match live from the Australian Open.  Even though my man Roger lost, we all had a great time.

Eats, you ask?

We set up a Breakfast Brunch Buffet with scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, bacon, waffles, fruits, breads and muffins of all kinds and an amazing Baked Brie en croute.  For drinks we had Bloody Mary’s, Screwdrivers, Mimosa’s; and for the non-drinkers like myself we had plenty of coffee and fruit drinks.
