I dropped the bag with my portable hard drive in it and broke that and the jar of pesto sauce and despite the sauce invading the hardrive and having to stick the whole lot together with tape it still works and my entire music colletion is saved. Good product!!!

While I am glad your hard drive is still working, I’d recommend running a diagnostic test in order to asses overall drive health.
To be safe I would make a second copy of the data on that drive. Never trust important data to just one drive internal or external no matter who makes it. A backup is 2 copies on dofferent devices. To many people move data to an external drive and wrongly think that one copy is a backup.
