I have forgot my password. I set it up and forgot the day after. Written somewhere and lost the note. The hint is not helping me. Lucky enough, I have no data on my brand new never used blue WD Passport so I believe I can format the entire disk or bring or back to factory configuration.
Only, I can’t format it. I followed the instructions provided about formatting via Windows 10 disk management utility but it won’t let me do it. I even tried the old fashioned format e: and no.
Can anyone help me ? Thank you !

Try typing an INCORRECT password 5 times in order to get a warning to erase and unlock the My Passport. If that doesn’t work, call WD support so they can provide more advice:
Hi Saul64. Unfortunately, if I type 5 times a wrong password, it comes up with a warning page that informs that I can erase but then from that page I can’t go anywhere. I wish I could erase or re-format the disk, but no. Thank you anyway, I will contact WD support.
