SSD Performance with new Sandisk SSD Plus 240 GB

I replaced a dying OCZ Vertex 3 in my home server with a new Sandisk SSD Plus 240 GB and am getting horrible write performance numbers on the new SSD.

According to CrystalDiskMark 3.0.4, I am getting the following:

  • Seq: 459.3 Read, 131.5 Write

  • 512K: 301.0 Read, 74.60 Write

  • 4K: 4.620 Read, 12.52 Write

  • 4K QD32: 5.857 Read, 21.50 Write

The partitions on the SSD are 4k aligned and I have run both the basic and extended SMART test on the SSD. I have also double checked the cable connections and there are no signaling errors showing up in the Windows event log.

My System Specs are as follows:

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97M-DS3H

  • CPU: Core i5 4690

  • OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard

Is there anything else I should check before returning this SSD?

Hi @BetronParks,
