Special use of the genre tag

Some wanted the ability to select the first letter of a song and see just songs that start with that letter. How about setting the genre tag to the first letter of the song name? Any other ideas for special use of the genre tag?

It would be nice if when selecting an artist, the player would let you see a choice of song names by that artist or album names. I hope this will be included in a future firmware update.

I think this was suggested before and some people use the genre tag to sort music.  I’ve done that too. 

But this idea is doable.

I use the genre tag pretty rigorously, keeping it down to 20 or so genres. For new albums, I copy the music to the Fuze (MSC mode) then change the tag to New Albums so they’re always separate. I also have some albums tagged with a genre of Favorites.
