Songs and Entire Albums keep mysteriously disappearing.

This has been an ongoing problem where I will look for a song on my mp3 player and it’s not there.  I have gone back into my library on the computer and it says the file was skipped for whatever reason, so I resync it.  I have fixed it in the past by resyncing the songs that had disappeared.  Then I realized yesterday that one song was missing, so I went looking at my other albums that were affected before, and sure enough the same songs that myseriously disappeared the first time around were gone again.  I went through my Fuze this morning and compared with my library and noticed that entire albums have just disappeared off of the device - none of these were songs I had deleted, of course.  I can’t figure out what is going on or why it is picking and choosing songs and albums to get rid of (these are still in my computer library, so I know it’s not a sync problem).

What format are the files? Are they DRM-encrypted?

No, all the songs are just mp3 format.

Another reason why I say ‘sync’ stinks. I know there are others here who disagree with me, but I’ll bet a dollar to a doughnut that if you re-formatted your player, switched to MSC mode and just dragged & dropped your files from your computer to your player, you wouldn’t be having these problems.

I Have the same problem with my iPod.

make sure that hidden files and folders are checked. then go to My Computer > (ipod) > iPod_Control > Music YOu should see a bunch of folders. If you go in them there should be music files named things like AZQC or CHZN They’re youre music files. I’m not sure how you can get iTunes to recognize it though. But your music should still be there!

Not sure if you noticed, but this is not an iPod forum. Nor has anyone in this thread mentioned they were using, or having problems with an iPod or iTunes, so your assistance while well intentioned seems to be mis-guided as well as meaningless.
