Some songs won't sync

Most songs work fine but certain ones say error after I try to sync them (I am using windows media player version 11). These songs that say error play on my computer, but they just won’t sync…any ideas what’s wrong with them and how can I fix them?

What file types are the problem files (e.g. MP3, WMA, WAV)?

Where did the files come from (e.g. ripped CD, downloaded, etc)?

im having the same problem when i rip from a cd any ideas on how to fix this

Need more info about the problem…

What program are you using to rip the CDs?

What format are you ripping to (MP3/WMA/…etc)?

How are you trying to transfer the tracks to the Fuze?

What happens when the problem occurs? Do you get any error messages etc?

i’m having the same problem… i just bought myself a sansa fuze 4gb and i tried the sync my first album… the sync stucked in the middle and i notice that it always stucks on the same song…

what can cause that? all the songs are from the same album, all mp3 files…

Where did the album MP3 files come from? If from a CD, what are you using to do the rip?

Does the problem file play OK on the PC (in Windows Media Player, for example)?

What are you using to do the sync’ing?

What happens if you try to transfer the problem file using Windows Explorer instead (drag & drop it into the Fuze’s Music folder)?

What firmware version is in your Fuze (Settings->System Settings->Info)?

the Album came from Downloads… btw it happens with other albums too…

Yes. the problem file plays fine in media player…

I’m using WMP to Sync.

and my current firmWare is 1.2.26F.

I forgot to mention that i try drag & drop method and it stuck as well but after several tries it worked. though it’s still annoying…

Anyway i have noticed  something when i tried to copy (using drag & drop) another album…

in the middle of the copy progress i got a message says the progress stopped because the device got disconnected which is not true.

But i realize something… is there any chance that the device get disconnect for a several seconds and causing the copy or sync to stop?

And does it stick if you manually drag & drop the file to the player with Explorer?

If it does stick, make a copy of the file & use MP3Tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) to strip the tag info from the file, and try manually copying it again. Without any tag info, if it copies OK, it will show up under ‘Unknown’ in Artist/Album, or you can find it via Music->Folders->InternalMemory.

If it works without the tag, the tagging info in the track is not compatible with the Fuze.  MP3Tag can be used to fix that. Try removing any album art & saving the tag as v2.3 - if you need help ask.

If it still won’t copy without the tag info, there may be a problem with the MP3 encoding. You could try opening it in something like Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) and exporting it again. To export as MP3, you will need to get Lame using Edit->Preferences->Import/Export in Audacity. Or you can export as OGG, which the Fuze also understands.

OK - my earlier reply crossed over with your 2nd one  Maybe it’s not so relevant.

What sort of computer are you using? If it’s a laptop, are you running on AC power? If it’s a desktop, are you plugging the USB in at the back of the PC?

Is anything else running on the PC while you are trying to do the transfer?

Maybe try a different PC if you can - maybe there is a fault with yours.

It maybe worth trying the transfer in MSC mode (Settings->System Settings->USB Mode). This makes your Fuze look like a USB disk drive - it will show up as a new drive letter.

Note that files transfered to the Fuze in MTP mode are stored in a different place on the Fuze to files transferred in MSC mode. The PC can only see one of these stores at a time depending on how the Fuze is connected. But the Fuze can always see tracks in both.

Ok, I found the Problem…

I connect the usb to the back usb ports of the pc and all transfer problem GONE!

i guess the front usb port (which i used the first time) are not so good and it caused the device to disconnect… Anyway it works great now!

If anyone got this problem just try to connect to a diffrent usb port, back ports are better i guess…
