After connecting my new external hard drive the computer found it almost immediately and reported the drive as ready to use. However, when I opened the drive the first time, using Control Panel, there was no software to be found. After that time I did find software on the WD site that has been downloaded and stored on the external hard drive. There is one utility, however, that when I try to run reports that a file or program the utility needs can not be found. Any suggestions?
I found in another post that you have a WD Elements, there is no software bundled with it, you can use it to drag and drop files to it or with the backup software of your preference.
