SLOW Simple enough that I can understand it!

I have a home network with both Windows and Linux computers.

I have two of the early 2TB dual drive My Books (Raid 0)

If I share a drive on one of these computers (not the WD NAS) I can copy, move and delete files at an acceptable rate across the network.  Speed is fairly consistant across different machines and OS. If I try to copy or move files from the WDNAS My Books I experience a transfer rate of between 2-4% of the computer’s “shared HDD” transfer rate .

I’ve deliberately avoid talking about my network hardware because what I am trying to understand is why a WDNAS transfer is 30 times slower than a transfer from a shared HDD. I’ve read dozens of posts in this forum and have yet to find anything that answers my question.

My comuter literacy is average but over the last 30 years I have had very few problems and the few that I have had I’ve been able to research and solve. I have two other brands of NAS products and do not have the same problem with them.them.

Hello, check if the link below helps to improve your transfer rate.
