Several firmware bugs

Hi,

The SansaZip does have several firmware bugs.

  1. When pressing the play button while the starting animation is still showing the player will start playback as soon as as the animation is completed. But sometimes (most likely depending on the moment one presses play) the player then misbehaves (tested with audiobooks). When pressing the pause/play button the player will show the pause icon but will NOT interrupt playback. Pressing it again it will show the play symbol and still nothing happens. The player has to be switched off to stop playback.

  2. The text how to unlock the LOCKED MODE is not localized (in German firmware the text is still in English).

Furthermore it would be nice to delete a file or folder. Right now this is only possible with the currently played file.

Thanks in advance

Bodo

ps. the forum spellcheck is funny. It wants to replace SansaZip with Assassin

Number 1 is a known issue. It’s been around at least since the Fuze and Clip+, and they haven’t fixed it yet. Best to not hit ‘play’ until you see the animation is done - and not a moment before.

Deleting an entire audiobook at a time instead of track by track has been requested before, too, but I haven’t seen the localization issue reported.

Call or email Sansa support to officially report an error or request a change. This is just a user forum.

I had to type SansaZip just to see spell-check suggest assassin. Thanks for the laugh.

I guess that was SanDisk’s internal codeword for the Clip line?

It killed the competition! :stuck_out_tongue:

And as an aside, the spellchecker suggests Emigrant in lieu of Miikerman.

“And as an aside, the spellchecker suggests Emigrant in lieu of Miikerman. …” With my current beard, I certainly look like one, from the 1800’s . . . . But it’s going by the wayside tomorrow–too fugly when eating.

But it catches all those crumbs so you can have a snack later!

or it makes you look like a rock star!

Yeah, the crumbs in the beard was part of the problem . . . .  Not really the look I was going for.

Adds character!  :stuck_out_tongue:

As well as little critters . . . .

By “critters” do  you mean dangerous ones like mice? This one in particular seems very homicidal.

Also, the spell check has conluded that my name is “Holocausts”.:smileyvery-happy:
