Can you tell me how to find the serial number on my sansa clip? Thank you 
IF you’re connected to a Windows computer, you can find the serial number by right clicking on Sansa clip in “My Computer” and click on properties.
That’s right. However, the number on the bottom of the Clip is the number that SanDisk wants for registration. The two numbers are not the same.
Which is goofy, as the bottom scribed number is actually a production series. At least it gives us an idea of when the device was produced.
Of course, if the Clip is dead, or won’t communicate, the digital ID cannot be read anyway.
