Selecting files to back up

I want to back up a copy of all files on my computer every day. If I select my computer (C) drive, does that contain all my media files, and if so, why are they listed separately under libraries?

Hi,
Most likely C: drive will contain all of your files unless you have another storage drive on your computer. Look on Windows Explorer where you see the C Drive. You should also see the external drive there (D:?). If so selecting C: drive will backup your media files.

The Libraries names are links to the actual files, which you will find under C:Users ->(your user name). The Libraries are just short cuts to often used folders, such as your media files.

The backup drive mayl actually use more space than the C:… So your external drive should be larger than the C: drive content.

Also, do NOT delete your files from the C: drive. The external drive is mechanical and may fail after many years of use. You need the files in two places for safety.
